The People

  • Aloha,
My name is Jon Fritzler, and I am the founder of AMP! It all started with a group of individuals who shared an ideal vision of what the world could be, if we came together in peace, equality, and creativity. Ideas turned into visions, which ignited passion, turning dreams into plans, which manifested into reality. I have decided to donate my life to the world, via AMP. I encourage you to join us, as we use our creative energies to AMPlify a movement, which will change the world, starting with ourselves.
Much Love,
Jon Fritzler

  • My name is Ben Altemus. I grew up in Oakridge, Oregon and have also lived in Hawaii and Utah, though I am settled for now in Alaska. Music, art, traveling, and making people smile are my favorite things, ever. I am all about doing whatever I can to make the world a better place. I met Jon Fritzler while visiting Honolulu in December orf2009. Jon told me all about AMP and instantly I knew that what he was doing would take off. In January of 2010 I started AMP Alaska at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Our first events were nothing but success with many people from all different backgrounds excited about our movement. We are building as each day passes, changing lives by the masses. Help AMP help you by spreading the movement of global peace through music and art!

Mahalo & Aloha, my name is Kanoa Ishihara! I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and now attend Ithaca College in upstate New York. I thrive on electronic music and traveling the globe to attend music festivals. I spent the summer of 2011 in Hawaii learning about AMP, so I could share the dream across the country. Currently, my goal is to help inspire creativity, ignite passion, and help everyone around me discover their purpose. I want to create a world where everyone feels  the freedom to be creative. AMP- IC is a flower getting ready to bud, and I can’t wait to help plant enough seeds to cover the world.

  • My name is Lauren Brady and I am a Junior with a major in Sociology.  My role in the Aloha Movement Project is as the Director of Sociological Impact. My main role is to illustrate the effect that AMP is having on the University of Manoa campus community.  My duties include attending every meeting that I can that pertains in some way to AMP.  I observe and note any interesting factor that explains what AMP is, how it works, what it has accomplished.  I have conducted surveys and intend on doing in-depth interviews.  Amp will be doing a project with Kapolei Middle school and I hope that it can be arranged that I can have a few interviews with the students to see what they learned, what they think about AMP and the members involved and any other intriguing information. I will then compile a 15 page research paper to present my findings by explaining AMP and its purpose, what the organization was able to achieve and any other future changes that can be applied to improve the Aloha Movement Project.  The best experience that I have been able to take from being an intern with AMP is the connections and new people that I was able to meet.  It was enjoyable to be working with other pro-active people towards a good cause.

My name is Giovonni Parks! In AMP, I was responsible for helping coordinating the filming of events, shooting, digitizing footage, and a little bit of editing. Filming theevents AMP sponsored aided in spreading AMP’s message beyond the time the event took place. It got people excited about it and had them wanting to come to next one. Also documenting the footage will help others schools learn to coordinate their own AMP in their own school.

AMP has helped me by allowing me to work with new people in different fields from my own. I also learned some techniques on how to photograph live events. I can now take the stuff I’ve shot and show it to potential job offers along with my resume. I feel it is because of my experience with AMP that I was able to win an award from the Academy for Creative Media for best collaborator. In all AMP was a great learning experience in teamwork.

My name is Ailsa Cooper and I am AMP’s artistic shepherd. As an art major at the University of Hawaii not only do I get to create art but now through AMP I get to show it off and meet other artists at our many events. I have helped put together a one night epic gallery, where we sold the artwork of UH students and artists from the community. I also helped gather all sorts of live artists for our events, who get to show the community their work as it is being created. As well as giving artists a venue to show off their art and to create their art before a crowd, AMP and I have given artists a new community of support. No longer do we need to be lonely artists, but now can inspire each other and collaborate to create something even greater. Lastly, I have helped put together numerous AMP collaborative boards that everyone who comes to our event can sign and add to. Each person at our events is a part of a special moment in time and through their art and ideas has helped AMP and I make each event spectacular.
